Self proposed theme: Color calibration pictures of women.
Proposition:
Prototype devised over images from the Chicago Film Society online Leader Ladies exhibition, and text from Genevieve Yue's academic paper "The China Girl on the Margins of Film".
The book aims to effectively render images in an atypical format (the film strip) and accommodate a demanding, profusely quoted and annotated text.
A combination of lay-flat and fore edge folding were tested, with very thin paper, to obtain a fanned fore edge and a curved appearance, in order to produce a rather small but eye catching coffee-table book.
